On 11th of February 1985, Yasser Arafat and King Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan reached a Jordanian-Palestinian agreement, known as the “Amman Agreement”. Among the main principles of the Agreement was that “Palestinians shall exercise their right to self-determination when Jordanians and Palestinians are able to achieve Israeli withdrawal and in the framework of the Arab Confederation intended to be established between the two states of Jordan and Palestine.”
